Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) April 11, 2006

Green Sun Press announces the publication of Making Peace with Herpes: Overcoming the Stigma and Freeing Yourself from Outbreaks (Green Sun Press, 2006, ISBN 0-9080780-0-4, 132 pages, $29.99). The book is written by Christopher Scipio, Homeopath/Herbalist, Holistic Viral and Immune Specialist.

Making Peace with Herpes is possibly the most thought-provoking and original book ever written on the subject of herpes. Christopher Scipio started off as a victim of the virus and transformed himself into one of the most experienced holistic practitioners who treats herpes in North America. He is an outspoken advocate of treatment without drug therapy.

While it is a subject that many people would rather avoid, Scipio points out that 60% of the sexually active population in North America has either herpes simplex 1 or 2. 70% of the people who have it either don't know they have it, won't admit they have it or are not treating it, Scipio explains For some people having herpes can make you feel like a leper. There are no public fundraisers or celebrity spokespersons championing the cause of herpes. In fact you would be hard-pressed to get anyone to admit in public that they have the gift. “

The good news and the ironic news is that herpes is one of the easiest diseases to manage naturally. There is absolutely no need for drug-therapy for herpes. This book isnt just about how to have fewer outbreaks or how to stop having outbreaks; just doing that isnt enough to be healthy. This book is about holistically healing your herpes and living a healthy, happy and balanced life. Holistic health is about much more than making symptoms go away.

Making Peace with Herpes is a must read for everyone. Whether you have herpes, are in a relationship with someone with herpes or you just want to educate yourself on the worlds fastest growing pandemic; its a self-empowerment guide of the first order.

Starting April 9th, 2006 the book will be on sale at http://www.herpesbook.com, The e-book retails for $29.99 and the soft-cover for $35.99 (usd).

Credit card and personal finance education on the agenda in NJ

New legislation in New Jersey’s state government would require personal finance education including a variety of detailed explanations on credit and debt terminology and consequences for card applicants.

The bill sponsored by New Jersey state Senator Barbara Buono and passed unanimously by the Senate Commerce Committee would require lenders to register with colleges and universities annually to announce their presence on campus.

The bill would also inhibit lenders from offering a slew of freebies to young adults that sign up for a credit card.

Buono commented on the importance of personal finance education saying, “Promotional sales gimmicks and students’ own ignorance about the factors playing into their personal credit and credit card debt result in many young adults getting in way over their heads. By informing them of the facts and eliminating sales gimmicks, we can hopefully empower students to make better credit decisions.”

As the bill moves through the full senate, the Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that campus officials generally support the measure.

Rowan University spokesman Joe Cardona hailed the bill as important legislation. At Rowan, credit card companies have been banned from on-campus solicitations for over 10 years, reports the Inquirer.

Uptick seen in personal finance education

Attendance at personal money management classes is up both in the classroom and online, but why is personal finance education important?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting significant increases to education and “financial literacy” classes that are hosted at local community spots, universities, and online from educational institutions like MIT.

Some people hoping to learn about the effects of the credit crunch, the status of the real estate market, and economic theory are apparently turning to OpenCourseWare financial tools which are much like a virtual class to learn the importance of finance.

Lecture notes, study guides and exams are available from this online offering of more than 180 business and financial education classes from nearly 250 universities globally.

High school students are also taking more personal finance education classes as the economy increasingly impacts how they will handle credit decisions in college and their plans for future careers.

Schools across the nation are reportedly realizing the importance of personal finance and making personal finance education courses and know-how a top priority.

Selling used books online is a profitable and rewarding way to make an extra income or start a new career. As a poor economy continues to weigh on everyone’s mind, more and more people are buying books used, and they’re finding the internet is the place to go to pick up the titles they’re looking for. Best of all, it’s quite easy to start an online bookstore and fairly inexpensive. In fact, you can get yourself in the used book business for under $500.

The best and easiest place to sell your used books online is Amazon.com. When most people look for books online, they turn to Amazon as a reliable source, so as a bookseller this is most likely where you want to set up your online bookstore. Best of all, there is currently no startup costs or fees until you sell a book, and those fees are quite reasonable, just a small percentage of the total sale price.

Now you’re ready to buy some books Unless you’re drawing from your personal collection, you’ll most likely need to purchase a lot of books. Estate sales and garage sales are excellent places to find a lot of books cheap. Consider offering a deal to the seller, such as, “I’ll take all 50 books for $75,” as this way you’ll get a lot of book for inexpensively, instead of buying them individually.

Wholesalers are another way to get a large amount of books for a low cost. Companies such as A1 Overstock and Book Depot sell large quantities of books for incredibly low prices, such as $1 a book. You usually have to purchase a minimum amount, such as $200, but this can be another valuable resource for your stock of books.

Next, you’ll need plenty of shipping materials. In most cases, a bubble envelope will work the best for shipping a single book. If you’re shipping a more expensive item, you might consider purchasing a product called Easy Fold Mailer, which is made of cardboard that can adjust to a book’s thickness and provides better protection than a bubble envelope. In most cases the bubble envelope will work just fine, but if more protection is needed, then you might want to consider the Easy Fold Mailer, available from Uline.

Most customers will choose “standard shipping,” which means you’ll be mailing the book using “media mail.” Because most books are over 13 ounces, you cannot simply drop them off at the post office, but instead will have to wait in line. To save on this time, you might consider using a postage meter. Pitney Bowes offers one called the E700 Personal Post that is perfect for the small volume bookseller. Another option is to purchase postage for your book shipments online at usps.com. Of course you have to pay for shipping too, but it is usually less than the standard Amazon shipping allowance, which you keep.

For just $500 you can be on your way to starting a successful online bookstore. Purchase the books and shipping materials, and you can be in the used books business before you know it. To learn more about selling used books online, read Used Books Into Gold, available at: http://extraincomebulletin.com

(PRWEB) December 26, 2011

With Amazon’s Kindle and Fire along with Barnes & Noble’s Nook and other e-Reader devices being big Christmas sellers this holiday season, readers seeking to download new e-books are quickly learning that top book critics are praising three page-turning, inspirational thrillers including CHASING THE CYCLONE, THE DEN OF THE ASSASSIN, and CLONING CHRIST written by best-selling geopolitical thriller writer Peter Thomas Senese that are now available in E-book format on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other e-retailers.

Several of Amazon’s elite book reviewers – members of Amazon’s renown HALL OF FAME reviewers are praising best-selling author’s Peter Thomas Senese’s recently released E-book international legal thriller CHASING THE CYCLONEas an electrifying story fans of high suspense thrillers should read. CHASING THE CYCLONE is presently available exclusively as an E-book on Amazon in E-bookthrough the Christmas Holiday Season. Senese’s deeply personal novel will be released in hardcover in early January, 2012.

Peter Thomas Senese’snew book release CHASING THE CYCLONEhas caused more than a handful of critics and readers to develop deeply frustrating and angry emotions that they have actually thrown or wanted to throw the author’s riveting international legal thriller or their e-book reader against a wall, a door, or through a window. Ordinarily, an author would not have any desire to have a reader’s feelings erupt to the point of physical action, unless of course, the storyline is intended to touch the reader’s nerve in such a way that they feel the need to physically act.

Inspired by the best-selling author’s own experiences racing into the storms of child abduction, Amazon’s critics have called “Chasing The Cyclone” ‘a Call-To-Arms against this worldwide epidemic and Peter Thomas Senese as a master storyteller’.

Amazon Hall of Fame book reviewer Daniel Jolley commented, “Chasing The Cyclone” isn’t just a powerful novel; it’s a call to arms against a growing epidemic that is tearing lives apart behind the headlines. “Chasing The Cyclone” is much more than just a superb, can’t-put-down novel, though; it is a book with a purpose. Peter Thomas Senese has become an outspoken advocate on this issue, and ‘Chasing The Cyclone’ makes for a clear and profoundly effective call to action. I would go so far as to encourage every loving parent to read this book, as the bond between this father and son is one to be emulated.”

Amazon Hall of Fame book reviewer Harriett Klausner added, . . . “This is an exciting cautionary thriller that grips readers from the onset . . . “Chasing The Cyclone” will shake the audience, this exciting cautionary thriller grips readers from the onset.”

Dr. Grady Harp, a highly respected Amazon Hall Of Fame book reviewer said, “Peter Thomas Senese now opens the windows on the magnitude of these tragedies in his excellent “Chasing The Cyclone”. As if the fast paced energy of this story weren’t enough to satisfy the reader, Peter Thomas Senese demonstrates his quality as a writer of distinction on many levels. this impossible to put down book.”

Additionally, Amazon Top Book Reviewer Shelley Gammon added, “Chasing the Cyclone” is the second book I’ve read by Peter Thomas Senese, and like “The Den of the Assassin,” it’s a real page turner. This was a book I could not put down. Thomas has a gift in writing a compelling novel that not only keeps the reader engaged, but educates as well.”

Added Peter Thomas Senese, “Chasing The Cyclone” is an entertaining book many readers have connected to as it is a serious legal thriller that hits a nerve with our desire to love our children best we can.”

In the wake of recent international events, including Iran’s capture of a U.S. drone spy plane by possible cyber-hacking combined with Russia’s immediate protective agreement to develop major oil fields in southern Iran, along with the death of North Korea’s isolationist dictator, Kim Jong, II, author Peter Thomas Senese is pleased to announce the release of his geopolitical thriller The Den of the Assassin on e-book.

The multi-dimensional plot is set on Wall Street and is based upon historical events that jettison the reader on a thrilling global geopolitical journey into the hidden and unseen worlds that exists within nations that have different global agendas than the United States and the West, including but not limited to China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Most concerning, as each nation has become more reliant on one another in our global society, a new level of extraordinary vulnerability to our national security has been created, one perhaps we may not be prepared for. In The Den of the Assassin, believe readers will find the uniquely accurate information on this subject that is carefully weaved through an intricate, entertaining storyline to be quite fascinating – and disturbing.

Amazon Hall of Fame book reviewer Daniel Jolley stated, “This is one seriously good thriller. Billed as “a novel of international finance and espionage,” Den of the Assassin is a super-realistic exploration of frightening possibilities, unsurpassed heroism, Lucifer-like evil, and terrorism of the worst kind . . . Peter Thomas Senese does a masterful job traversing the inner hallways of diverse institutions as he slowly brings all of these diverse elements together for a slam-bang climax . “Peter Thomas Senese displays a wealth of knowledge of geopolitics, espionage, and international finance, describing all the technical intricacies of the story’s elements and implications with great attention to detail -without ever letting the pace get bogged down or become confusing to the reader. He also keeps a number of secrets close to the vest, saving them for just the right time in the story . . . Many a writer of thrillers seem to drop the ball somewhere in the middle of their novels, but Peter Thomas Senese’s’ knowledge of geopolitics, international finance, and 21st century terrorist threats keeps the fires of detailed complexity and story evolution stoked and red-hot for the entire ride. Tyler Boxter is no James Bond, but Den of the Assassin proves to be just as exciting as any 007 caper – and much more realistic.”

Peter Thomas Senese commented, “In THE DEN OF THE ASSASSIN it was my hope and intent to create a historical novel readers will not want to put down due to a cleverly created plot combined with a high dose of important facts and information that I believe important to share that when combined, drives the story in a way that both entertains, educates, and causes my readers to think about the subject matter presented. As our global society continues to shift, the subject matter presented in THE DEN OF THE ASSASSIN is highly relevant.”

Cloning Christ, Peter Thomas Senese’s theological thriller that asks the question, “What would you do if you held the potential True Cross of Jesus in your hands, and it contained blood and hair strains on it? has had readers from around the world talking about the endless possibilities Senese brings out in his novel that pushes the question of where and how science and faith can co-exist in today’s world.

Amazon Hall Of Fame book critic Harriett Klausner commented, “Fans will relish this thriller. The tale is loaded with action yet uses the characters as symbols of mankind similar to a medieval passion play like Everyman. The cast represents the faithful, the disbelievers, the dividers (torn between science and religion) or the selfish. “Cloning Christ” brings the debate of religion vs. science to the forefront in an exciting manner that focuses on the sacredness of life.”

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) January 02, 2012

When author Cheryl Robinson decided to write a book centered around a reality show, the issue of the negative portrayal of women, in particular black women, on reality shows quickly surfaced. The debate wasnt whether women of other races are also shown behaving badly because one can point to Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club, and a few of The Real Housewives series and instantly realize that women of other races have also been depicted in a way that is both damaging to themselves as well as other women. However, in the case of black women, the balance between positive and negative imagery in the media is often skewed to portray them as being loud, angry and argumentative.

For me, it wasnt about putting the main character on a show like Real Housewives with other women and ramping up the drama, which definitely is one formula for a novel, said Robinson. But I specifically chose a dating show because I wanted to write about love and put a different face from what is often shown on TV.

In the novel, the fictionalized reality show premieres on network television on Valentines Day and is viewed as a direct competitor to The Bachelorette and The Bachelor. But unlike The Bachelorette and The Bachelor that has never, in the combined twenty-two seasons, showcased a non-white contestant in the title role, protagonist Olena Day is both black and in her mid-forties. Robinson also put the adage of never say never to use to come up with the plot for her forthcoming novel, The One. Olena Day, an aspiring writer, dislikes reality TV, but decides to take the opportunity to star in the new reality show, in hopes of securing a book deal.

The relationship-driven novel takes readers behind the scenes of a dating reality show and deals with love (both real and scripted) from the points of view of Olena Day and her on-again, off-again beau, Jason Nix, a former NFL star turned sports commentator, who apprehensively reenters the dating world after Olena becomes preoccupied with reality TV stardom.

The author will be hosting 14 Days of Valentines at http://www.cherylrobinson.com/blog and http://www.facebook.com/theonenovel. The official entry period begins February 1, 2012. Fourteen prizes, mostly gift cards, will be given away. The contest is being sponsored by Second Chance Motors.

About the author:
Cheryl Robinson has written eight novels, including the best seller In Love with a Younger Man. She is a native of Detroit and currently resides in Central Florida. For more information, visit the authors website at http://www.cherylrobinson.com.

The question of which is the best e book reader is finally being asked with a decent level of interest by those looking to purchase ebook reader devices. This is mainly due to the release of some serious competition to the wireless Kindle 2, long the leader in this section of the market.

The answer to the question is might be difficult to reach in the U.S. but for those of us living outside of the States it has become easier with the Kindle finally going international. It was made available to purchase in over one hundred countries, be it originally at a premium, and now those up north, in Canada, have become the latest to be able to use the Kindle.

The Barnes and Noble Nook, the model that is looking to seriously dent the Amazon Kindle crown in the States, is, after a sound start, being firmly put on the back foot by Amazon’s cute marketing and their own supply short comings. And more importantly for us “foreigners”, the Nook does not allow downloading content outside of the U.S.

Potential purchasers will not care just how “pretty” the Nook is, this business is all about content and if you take a quick look on the official Nook site, the Frequently Asked Questions page answers the specific question of purchasing a Nook outside of the U.S. with a terse “No, at present the Nook is only available in America.” the same answer we had seen on the Kindle site and many Forums countless times before. Strange, given the past demand for the Kindle outside the U.S. they (B&N) did not launch Internationally from the outset, but then again with their shortage of units and delayed delivery times it does look like they have been caught out, much the same as Amazon were last Christmas.

So what are the contenders for best e book reader. Well the Kindle has to be right up there, more on the availability of content really. Even though those that purchase the ebook reader for use outside the U.S. will only have access to 300K books, not the full 360K listed on Amazon.com, that still represents a huge collection. Then we have the Sony Edition range, stylish, reliable, affordable and available worldwide. No proprietary file format and support for both.pdf and.epub lets you access content from a large number of online book stores. Maybe more importantly, you can tap into the vast seam of free content and public domain works available online including the one million free titles at Google Books. Appealing eh? and with prices starting at just $199, fantastic value.

I know the best ebook reader does not come down to price alone but a competitive price coupled with a massive amount of content may be the deciding factor when you purchase an ebook reader for use outside of the U.S. If that is the case, the best e book reader in my eyes has to be the Sony Pocket Edition but you can decide for yourself with a visit to my reader review blog, where all the top International models are reviewed by real customers.

There are many types of eBook readers available in the market, with the Kindle reader among the most popular ones. The most common attributes that separate each type of eBook reader are probably the kinds of screens that are used with the device and the way that the eBooks are being purchased and how they are added into the device itself. Knowing the most basic and some of the more intricate differences between each type of eBook readers can be a huge advantage when it comes to selecting a good quality eBook reading device.

When making a decision like picking the right eBook reader that will satisfy your needs and wants, you need to be aware or knowledgeable enough to determine the good types of screens being used with the device, as well as the storage capacity and the download capabilities or Internet connectivity. There are eBook readers in the market that have huge storage capacity but lack Internet connectivity, which means that you will have to use a computer to download books and transfer them to your reading device. Although there are other makes and models that have both but are slightly more expensive. The choice, however, is a more preferential one; it is entirely up to you to make that decision.

When it comes to screen types, many eBook readers available in the market today use one of two types: LCD or LED. When you want to buy an electronic book reader, you should consider where you will be using it the most. Devices that use LCD screens do not really do well under intense sunlight. The glare from the sun will make it hard to read anything on your eBook reader’s screen, unlike Amazon’s latest Kindle, which uses E Ink with Pearl display technology. This feature allows for a higher contrast than most eBook reading devices and displays clearer texts and sharper images, which makes it perfectly suited for reading under the sun.

Now that you have learned something about the different types of screens used in eBook readers, the next thing you need to consider is the downloading capability and connectivity of the device. You should be aware of how eBooks are being added to the device you want to buy. Some makes and models do not have Internet connectivity, so you will have to use a computer to download eBooks from the Internet and then add them to your device. There are also other eBook readers, like the new Kindle reader from Amazon, which has built-in Wi-Fi and 3G technology. This basically eliminates the need for computers, since you can simply download eBooks directly into your Kindle eBook reader.

Although almost all types of eBook readers have fairly similar sizes, which are about the same as a standard-sized paperback pocketbook, the thickness as well as the actual weight of the device may vary. This characteristic may not be that essential to everyone, but it may be important to you; so make sure that you actually get to hold the device and get a sense of its weight and size before you make your decision to buy it.

Finally, choosing an electronic book reader that has a significant storage capacity is quite an advantage, especially for those who may have an extensive collection of eBooks. So, if you are interested in buying an eBook reader, make sure to consider some of these factors that are mentioned in this article. When you go to the store, don’t just bring your wallet with you; bring common sense and product knowledge as well.
